Inviga’s modernisation project with QLeave
Supporting Long Service Leave for the Building and Construction Industry
QLeave is a critical service provider for the building and construction industry in Queensland. They engaged Inviga to enhance their long service leave management system and customer portal. The goal was to align QLeave’ s technology with strategic objectives and improve the services provided to 330,000 workers and 25,000 employers.
Modernising Systems and Streamlining Data Management for Qleave
Inviga designed and implemented a custom Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform that fully integrated with QLeave’ s business processes.
This platform replacement included the migration of millions of row of historical data, as well as the consolidation of multiple portals into a unified, user-friendly system that streamlined registration, claims processing, and case management.
In addition to improving operational efficiency, the new system moved the majority of customer interactions online, delivering significant cost savings. The platform features a modular ASP.NET-based customer portal that allows employers and workers in the Building and Construction Industry to manage their information, submit claims, and act as authorized representatives for employers and other workers. Authentication is powered by Azure B2C, supporting secure, customized sign-in and registration journeys. React and TypeScript applets further enhance the portal’s functionality, enabling complex multi-page forms that interact seamlessly with backend data.
As one of QLeave’ s core technology partners, Inviga continues to support the platform’s evolution. We developed custom middleware to cache data from Dynamics 365, ensuring scalability and fast performance across the portal. Additionally, Inviga introduced a document integration solution that syncs records between the portal and QLeave’ s Content Manager 10, enabling staff to view records directly within Dynamics 365 through a tailored interface.
One of QLeave’ s key challenges involved maintaining data integrity in a large client database, where address inconsistencies accumulated over time. To address this, we implemented a robust address verification tool integrated with third-party batch processing services via API. This tool processes batches of 500 addresses, verifies and repairs inconsistencies, and highlights corrections in a report for approval. The system reduces manual entry errors and ensures data accuracy, with periodic clean-ups scheduled during weekends to minimize system disruption.
Under a support and enhancement contract, Inviga continues to refine the QLeave platform, ensuring it remains adaptive to new challenges and operational needs. Through these innovations, Inviga has empowered QLeave to offer efficient online services while maintaining data integrity, delivering better outcomes for workers and employers across Queensland’s construction industry
